On 29 July 2016, ICRS families organized a community service at Kinahrejo Village, Merapi, Yogyakarta. This activity is a part of series of programs to celebrate ICRS’s 10th anniversary. With the theme To Foster the Origin of Life, To Rejuvenate the Motherland, ICRS is actively participating in the movement to save the earth. For this event, ICRS along with people in Kinahrejo Village , planted a thousand trees provided by ICRS in the area affected by the eruption of the Merapi Volcano in 2010.
Dr. Siti Syamsiyatun, as ICRS’s Director, expressed in her opening remarks her happiness about ICRS’s participation in the event. She said that through this program, ICRS can directly contribute to society not only in the academic sphere , but also in the real challenges facing Indonesian society . To save the mother earth is an obligation for all people. By doing this social service, ICRS declared to the public about their support for every movement to save the earth.
